About HUCE, VCA, VIBM
Hanoi University of Civil Engineering - HUCE Welcome message Dear distinguished guests, colleagues and friends, with over 55 years of establishment and development, and more than 65 years of training experience, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has become a leading center in terms of training, scientific research and technology transfer in Vietnam, and we are proud to provide high-quality human resources for the country across the broad spectrum of civil engineering. With experienced administrative staff and well-qualified academic staff who are not only recognized as specialists in their own expertise but also dedicated to education, HUCE has so far provided over 80,000 engineers and architects for the country's industrialization and modernization. About 8,000 graduates hold master's and PhD degrees in various disciplines. The alumni of HUCE have been working in all cities and provinces, and even abroad, from construction sites to factories, at universities and institutes, in enterprises as well as in state management agencies at all levels, hereby making substantial contributions to both the construction and national defence. Apart from excellence in training, HUCE is also a powerhouse in research and technology transfer, with a wide range of applications to the building industry. Mission The missions of HUCE are to train high-quality human resources; to conduct scientific research, develop technology and transfer knowledge and to co-create for the sustainable development of the society and country. Science and Technology With over 65 years of training, and 55 years of establishment and development, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has become a leading university in the field of construction, and a center for research and application of advanced technologies. HUCE has a strong reputation in Vietnam, and has partnerships with many universities, research institutions, as well as domestic and international organizations. From the 2015-2016 academic year, the university began to comply with the Decree No. 99/2014/ND-CP dated October 25, 2014 of the Prime Minister regulating the investment in developing potentials and encouraging activities in science and technology in higher education institutions. Our policy focuses on a number of points as follows:
Facilities University's campus in Hanoi has a total area of 3.9 ha, including lecture halls of H1 (6 floors) and H2 (4 floors), Library (4 floors), Laboratory (10 floors), Sports Centre (1403 m2), convention hall of G3 (900 seats), Administration building of A1 (6 floors) and Dormitory (8012,22 m2/1000 beds). The University has been investing to construct a new campus for practical training in Nam Cao Residential Area, Phu Ly city of Ha Nam province with an area of over 24 ha. Vietnam Concrete Association - VCA VCA has been and continued implementing many consultations, reviews, recommendations for governmental policies, mechanisms, strategies, national programs in regards to the development of concrete industry. VCA directly implement drafts of standards, technical guidelines on concrete ingredients, mix proportions, fresh and hardened properties, concrete components, structural design for reinforced concrete, construction and acceptance. Vietnam Concrete Association (VCA) is the professional and social organization that has various members from universities, institutes, enterprises and other parties working with concrete research and development in Vietnam. VCA usually disseminate information and knowledge regarding concrete material through various conferences, seminars and international cooperation. VCA directly implement drafts of standards, technical guidelines on concrete ingredients, mix proportions, fresh and hardened properties, concrete components, structural design for reinforced concrete, construction and acceptance. VCA has been and continued implementing many consultations, reviews, recommendations for governmental policies, mechanisms, strategies, national programs in regards to the development of concrete industry.
Vietnam Institute for Building Materials - VIBM Vietnam Institute for Building Materials (VIBM) established in 1969, currently under the Ministry of Construction, is a national institute of science and technology that mainly implement research activities in building materials and other fields including construction mechanics, technical infrastructure and environment to serve the state management and development of building material industry nationwide. VIBM has been dynamic working in order to become a leading institute of advanced science and technology in the region and in the world. In regards of research about cement and concrete, VIBM researchers have been and continued implementing variety of projects onSulfate Resistant Cement, Oil-well Cement Class G, High grade Portland Cement PC 60, Low Heat Cement, Expansion Cement, Aluminate Cement;Non-shrinkage and self-flowing mortar, High quality concrete, Fiber Reinforced Concrete, Acid Resistant Concrete, self-compacting concrete,rolling compacting concrete, concrete using flyash, iron and steel slag, construction demolition wastes, etc. Recently, VIBM has completed an important research to build up the national strategy for development of building materials in Vietnam to 2030 and the orientation to 2050. The strategy has been approved by Vietnam Prime Minister on 18 August 2020 to shape the building materials industry in the way of more sustainable development.
